Outline the elements this invention retrieves from past technologies.

Music Xray uses some of the same elements as many other music hosting web sites and puts these aspects into one site. The site holds similar aspects to that of Youtube and Purevolume, to just list a few. On each song page, any viewer is able to see the mp3 file, lyrics, and artist information. Not only this but key information such as its market potential, current market traction, blog mentions and social network activity. To top this off, each Music Xray page also combines all the best solutions for song submission, song showcasing, basic licensing, song sharing, simple distribution, controlled downloading, professional crosschecking and public commenting.  All data is controlled by song owners, validated through consumption pattern monitoring, and ultimately reviewed by qualified professionals. Outside of the database, Music Xrays can be embedded into any web page, blog, or social network and given out privately.

However, a new aspect that no other music site has that Music Xray has is a powerful music retrieval tool that enables consumers and music industry professionals to easily filter through all of the songs in the database to obtain songs and playlists that match specific filtering criteria. For example, one could search for songs that sound like "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen, have 130 beats per minute, have market potential above 50% in the rock genre and have the words "Russian roulette" in the lyrics and could be isolated to be considered for a specific licensing opportunity.
